Dance: Hands and Arms - Flamenco
This will be a live progressive gesture session focusing on close ups of hands and arms.
The arm movements I demonstrate/pose will be Flamenco in style as that is the dance form I am most familiar with. ( My mother and mother's family are from Rota, Spain. I'm second generation Spanish since my mother emigrated from Spain as a child.)

I will be dressed as pictured below.
The pose schedule is:
*a brief intro about Flamenco dance and postures, re my family history with the dance*
5 x 3 minute poses
each of these will be demonstrating the basic arm positions of:
Primera (first)
Segunda (second)
Tercera (third)
Cuarta (fourth)
Quinta (fifth)
* 5 min break *
4 x 5 minute poses
These will combine the arm postures demonstrated above in an improvisational way.
* 5 min break *
a short bit of movement demo to show the two types of percussive claps: palmas abiertas (fingers to palm) and palmas sordas (palm to palm)
2 x 10 minute poses of arms & hands in clapping poses
* 5 minute break *
a few minutes to explain wrist movement and movement demo: fist, palm, middle finger, and pinkie all can 'lead' movements
4 x 5-7 minute hand poses (length depends on time remaining)
These will be mostly 3/4 body poses with the last section only a portion of the arms and closer view of hands.
